Upgrade of Blog Site
admin | April 08, 2008 09:41
This post is to let blog users know that within the next two weeks we will be upgrading the software for this blog site. In order for the upgrade to go as smoothly as possible, there will need to be some things done by all blog users. We will be sending e-mails and posting on this site the steps that need to take place.
For now, here is what we need each blog user to do:
1. Make sure you can receive e-mail from the domain caringonline.com. This is critical. Otherwise when we do the upgrade and send out e-mail notifications you may not receive them.
2. If you want to keep your blog, you MUST send me an e-mail informing me that you want to keep your blog. If you do not do this, your blog and username will be deleted from the server once the upgrade has been completed.
Once we start the upgrade if we have not received an e-mail and/or there is blogs that have not had posts in the last two weeks, we will be deleting the blogs and usernames.
3. If you have any pictures in your Resource folder, make sure that you have a copy of them on your local computer. At times during the upgrade, we cannot recover images.
4. Check the summary page on a regular basis to see if there are any posts by us regarding the upgrade.
5. Be sure and read the User Guide and FAQ Section (links found on Summary page) if you are having problems with using your blog. I notice posts about not being able to post comments on other blogs. You must turn on comments on your blog in order to receive comments. If you turn on comments, you must make sure you have activated anti-spam plug ins. There are directions in the User Guide and FAQ.
One last item
We will be strictly enforcing blog policies and guidelines. Make sure your blog is in compliance or it will be deleted. We have had some users using profanity on their blogs and posts that have come close to promoting eating disorders. Be aware that if your blog is not in compliance with our policies it may be deleted without notice (we do try to give warnings-but many ignore the warnings). We must enforce our blog guidelines so that Caringonline Blog Sites is a safe place for those who want to overcome ED.
